just as easy as that.

My condolences goes to the people in Japan. Everything comes from Allah and to Him everything returns. For them, they will keep on struggling to survive but for us, it's a different story. Our empathy is a must but the most important thing is to remind ourselves. Since we always forget, this strong reminder should struck us really hard. Just like how the images cast fear in our heart, that's how we should remember that the final destination is awaiting for our arrivals. Death happens everyday but we seldom get any lessons from it, but when this kind of disaster happens, the fear is outraging. As we all know, the Quran tells us a number of disasters that befell the people before us. One of the notable ones is the big flood whereby Prophet Noah and his followers took over the ark and cruised across the water. When I watch the news about the tsunami, the first thing that came to my mind was, "When will I blew my last breath? and How?" We all know our death is certain but most of us or at least me, feel like I will stay alive until I get old. It's like a risk to me; Wake up everyday and hoping that I will not die today. I know this needs to change and I'm working towards it. Here are a few lines from the Quran that remind us about what is the end of us.

Verily, the Day of Judgement is the time appointed for all of them. When Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan, in aught and no help can they receive. Except him on whom allah has mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. Verily, the tree of zaqqum, will be the food of sinners, like boiling oil, it will boil in the bellies, like the boiling of scalding water. (It will be said) "Seize him and drag him into the midst of blazing fire, "Then pour over his head the torment of boiling water, "Taste you this! Verily, you were (pretending to be) the mighty, the generous!" "Verily! This is that whereof you used to doubt!" Verily! The Muttaqun will be in place of Security. Among Gardens and Springs; Dressed in fine silk and in thick silk, facing each other, So (it will be), We shall marry them to Houris (females fair ones) with wide, lovely eyes. They will call therein for every kind of fruit in peace and security; They will never taste death therein except the first death (of this world), and He will save them from the torment of the blazing fire, As a Bounty from your Lord! That will be the supreme success!

Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 40-57

I can conclude based on the above evidence that in the end, the Day of Judgement will get to us. If we are Muttaqun, we will get that supreme success. if we are otherwise, we will get to eat from the tree of zaqqum.

We are all aware about this but the way we are enjoying this worldly life is like this world is not going to end. We are too busy to achieve those other successes, when Allah clearly says that the supreme success is to be among the Muttaqun and to be saved from the torment of the blazing fire. As Saidina Ali bin Abi Talib once said, "Do for the dunya as you will live forever, and do for the akhira as you will die tomorrow".

Akhir kata, Remember Allah when you have a choice, and Allah will remember you when you have no choice.

In Allah we have faith
